How can the Air Port Extreme 802.11 n Base Station be improved? By bringing the internal antennas outside the box. With a more sensitive 5dbi external antenna array.
The new Base Station is quite powerful by embracing the Draft-N 2.0 specification, however there is plenty of room for improvement. The MIMO (Multi-Input Multi-Output) antennas are all quite modest in receptive sensitivity and transmission capability.
Additional Flexibility Outside
Having an external setup offers the flexibility of using coaxial cable to put your antennas where the reception/transmission is best. This means you can arrange your 5dbi antenna array at the best possible position with 3 foot of coaxial cable, maximizing its potential.
Performance and Contents
Our kit offers the new 5dbi antenna array and a 3 foot coaxial cable to wring more performance out of that new Base Station. This is fully compatible with the other 802.11 standards of A, B, and G. The range increase is 2 to 3 times greater coverage than a standard n Base Station, depending on your situation.
